Day 15

And then it was done...l.

sunny

Well today is the last day of our Europe adventure! I had such an amazing time!!! I absolutely LOVE Europe and can't wait to come back again, hopefully in Dec :). For those of you who haven't heard (which is possible since my sister hasn't been very outgoing in sharing her awesome news!), my sister Laurie is moving to Wales, UK for a yr to do her Masters!!! So, My other sister Lesley and I are hoping to go visit her and do a bit of traveling during Christmas break! Laur, get your floor ready ;)

Back to the present, it's our last day which is bitter sweet. Traveling is always fun, but it's also nice to come home. Eating out for every meal gets tiresome after a while. Sleeping in hotels is fun at first but it's not like your awesome comfy bed at home. Packing your bag to travel to a new country every 3 days can be exhausting. Trying to create new outfits with the same clothes your sick of wearing is a challenge. The last 2 1/2 wks have been a blast but now I can't wait for the home cooked spaghetti dinner my mama's preparing me tomorrow night (it's my traveling tradition! Thanks mom...no pressure!)

Today was an awesome day! We went on the Volendam, Marken and Windmills trip in Holland. We walked through 2 small communities, saw a demonstration of cheese and clog making, went to a big park with sheep, and lots of windmills and took a boat cruise on the sea. We really got to see a lot of Dutch countryside which brings me to my next comment. I am now in search of either a Scotch or Dutch man, can currently live in Canada but must have dual citizenship. So when we marry, I can also obtain citizenship and then we can move and retire to either country! So please, keep your eyes open for me!;)

We had the best cheapest dinner tonight, 2 nights in a row actually...pizza! Mmmmm and for desert we went to a bakery and got bad treates. I had the most amazing strawberry tart! Pictures to come!

Amsterdam and Holland were awesome, just awesome!! Things that I will miss are: wooden shoes, bikes (watch out for the bikes!!!), fries in a cone with mayo, a 'different' smell in the air, windmills and the country side, Anne Frank's huis and canals and water everywhere.

I'm posting early because it's time to start packing up 21/2 wks of our life into our backpacks and try to catch some zzzzzz's. We have a taxi coming to pick us up for the airport at 5:30am for a 9am flight :(. We will fly into Toronto just after 11am. We are loosing 6 hours sleep so I figure I'm either going to be very very wired or very very tired. So tomorrow should be an interesting day!

Til tomorrow!
Love Lins
